URI Design Studio is a lighting design consultancy firm, working across South Asia (India, Nepal, Sri Lanka). Established in 2017 we believe in collaboration with architects/ designers as a primary criteria to provide quality spatial experience to the end user.

This design firm thinks that visual comfort is a prime objective of all lighting schemes to achieve that we merge technology and aesthetics. The firm is involved in Architectural, landscape & Exhibition lighting and has completed over 30 projects in last two and half years. In lighting itself the firm has been engaged in projects at various levels, ranging from complete lighting design, local lighting designer, specifier and product designer (only lights). These engagements have broadened the horizon of the firm and has refined the way in which it engages in new project.

URI is headed by Thiruvengadam, who is an architect and urban designer by qualification and lighting designer by profession, in his 12 years of experience he has worked in firms as lighting designer for 7 years. His belief is that the lighting is an art which sculpts spaces and brings them to life. Due to his experience as an architect & urban designer, where he has dealt with projects of varying scale and complexities, he is able to integrate lighting into project in accordance to the designer’s vision.
